GSWW Destinations
Girl Scout Destinations are Travel Opportunities for Girl Scouts - Internationally, Nationally, and Locally!
Girl Scouts of Western Washington is sponsoring this Pacific Northwest Adventure: July 20–August 3, 2024, centered around our very own Camp Towhee.
Highlights from the GSWW Website:
Explore the vibrant Pacific Northwest by sailing, hiking, camping, and learning environmental science from women in the field.
Explore the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest, taking your outdoor skills and environmental knowledge to the next level! During this two-week event, you’ll go backpacking and river rafting, get certified in wilderness first aid, cook gourmet outdoor meals with a trained chef, and set sail for three days aboard the Adventuress, a 102-foot schooner.
Our home base will be Girl Scouts of Western Washington’s Camp Towhee, a primitive campsite in the North Cascades. Enjoy tent camping, campfires, and stargazing with an astronomy professor. By day, you’ll learn about local ecosystems through visits to the fertile Skagit Valley farmlands, a local salmon hatchery, and a weather station—and meet the incredible women working at these sites in environmental science careers.
If you’re interested in ecology, outdoor recreation, sailing, or environmental science, this is the Destination for you. You’ll love the beautiful waterways, temperate rainforests, and lush valleys of the Pacific Northwest!
